Waltham, MA - Senior Chad Henry scored five goals and classmate Brandon Butler netted four to lead Adelphi to an 11-7 win over Bentley on Saturday, March 15 in non-conference Division II men's lacrosse action. The Panthers improved to 3-2 with the win, while the Falcons were handed their first loss of the season and fell to 2-1.

With Henry and Butler combining for nine goals, junior Eddie Ege scored the other two and notched four assists for Adelphi. Bentley, meanwhile, got all seven goals from different players with junior Andy Curtis tallying a goal and three assists.

After Ege and Bentley junior Addi Van Hatcher traded goals early on in the first quarter, Henry scored a man-up goal to spur a string of four straight goals for the Panthers giving Adelphi a 5-1 lead with 10 minutes to go before halftime.

The Falcons answered with a string of three unanswered goals over five minutes as junior Brad Petersen, senior Scott McCowan and junior Chris Woods got Bentley back within one goal.

Adelphi reestablished a healthy lead with four straight goals over eight minutes straddling halftime. Butler and Henry scored before the break to give the Panthers a 7-4 halftime edge and Henry came out with a pair of goals to kick off the second half and stake Adelphi to a 9-4 lead that proved to be too much for Bentley to overcome.

Curtis and sophomore Brad Tunis found the back of the net in the third and sophomore Wyatt Couture got on the board in the final frame, but a pair of fourth-quarter goals from Butler led to the 11-7 final.

Sophomore goalie Drew Smith made 16 saves to earn the win for the Panthers, while junior Kris Dambach stopped 10 shots at the other end for Bentley.

Adelphi returns to action on March 21, when they play host to St. Michael's at James M. Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University at 1:00 pm.
