Men's Lacrosse Routs Mars Hill, 21-8

Mars Hill, NC - The Adelphi University men's lacrosse team took on Mars Hill College on Tuesday, March 11. The Panthers picked up a 21-8 win over the Lions at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. Mars Hill fell to 5-2 on the season while the Panthers improved to an even 2-2 overall.

After scoring the first three goals of the game, Adelphi led 7-3 after the first quarter. The Panthers then out scored Mars Hill 4-2 in the second quarter to enjoy a 11-5 lead at the intermission.

Adelphi put the game away in the third period scoring eight goals to the Lions' one to lead 19-6 heading into the final stanza. The teams notched two goals each in the fourth quarter to make the final tally, 21-8.

Tyler Farmer and Danny Farmer scored two goals apiece to lead Mars Hill. Tim Burns assisted on two goals, whilie Nick Sigona played 53:43 in goal for the Lions and made 11 saves.

Adelphi out shot the Lions 40-29, edged Mars Hill in ground balls 42-38 and won 25-32 face-offs. Edward Ege led the Panthers with four goals, eight assists and two ground balls. Dale Pescitelli scored two goals and recorded four assists and tallied 10 ground balls.

Jessie Corben won 25-31 face-offs for Adelphi and added 11 ground balls. Devin Schneiderbauer played 53:43 in goal for the Panthers and made nine saves.

Adelphi returns to action on March 15, when they travel to Waltham, Massachusetts to take on Bentley.
