Garden City, N.Y. -
Playing host to Holy Family University, Women's Tennis faced strong opposition, dropping the match 7-2. The Panthers picked up a game in both doubles and singles, but proved to be too little against the Tigers. The Panthers now sit at 6-5, 3-2 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play, while Holy Family improves to 7-3 with the win.
It was Alda Ribeiro in number one singles that ended up being Adelphi's loan winner in one-on-one competition, taking the match 6-2, 6-1 over the Tigers' Shakir Willett. In doubles, the two spot of Carolyn Smith and Jamie Sussman rallied passed Liana Liu and Melanie Pulsinelli in a 9-8 tie breaking fashion for the final Adelphi point.
The Panthers will conclude their regular season play, when they host ECC rival Dowling College on October 10. First serve is at 3:30 p.m.
