Adelphi Rolls Past Queens, 4-0

Flushing, N.Y. - A total of five different players teamed to lead the Adelphi University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over Queens College this afternoon. The Panthers improve to 10-3-1 and 4-1-1 in the ECC. The Knights fall to 8-4 and 1-3.

Sophomore Brianne McDonnell kicked off the scoring with her fifth game-winning goal of the season, at 26:56 on an assist from senior Amanda Herrera. The Panthers managed 10 shots in the first half, compared to the Knights who were held without a shot.

McDonnell's corner kick in the 64th minute was headed in by senior Lauren Slattery to push the lead to 2-0. The team of senior Amanda Rodriguez and sophomore Emily Dunne combined for the final two goals of the afternoon. Rodriguez's first goal came in the 82nd minute and she ecked out her second shot at 89:29.

Freshman Dorothy Connolly, named this week's ECC Rookie of the Week, made four saves for the Panthers. Crystal Butler had seven saves for the Knights.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 18, as they host the University of Bridgeport at 4:00 p.m.
