The Adelphi University women's basketball team fell to C.W. Post, 64-42, on Wednesday evening at the Pratt Recreation Center. The Pioneers snap a two-game slump to improve to 11-6 overall and 8-2 in the ECC, while the Panthers drop to 8-9 on the season and 6-2 in conference play.
The teams played an even first half, with a Jasmine Travers free shot tying the game at 10-10 (11:30). A trey by sophomore Jasmine Moore gave the hosts a 21-17 lead, but a 5-1 run by the Panthers knotted the score at 22 at the half.
Adelphi came out of the half quickly and two quick buckets gave them a 28-22 advantage, but the Pioneers outscored the Panthers, 29-8, down the stretch to coast to a win.
The Pioneers shot 42.6 percent from the field, and went 13-of-16 (.813%) from the charity stripe. The Panthers shot a season-low 28.0 percent from the field, and held a 38-37 edge on the glass.
Moore scored a game-high 17 points and senior guard Erica Bell had 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, January 26, as they travel to Molloy College for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
