Men's Soccer Blanked by Loyola, 1-0

Baltimore, MD - Adelphi traveled to Baltimore, Maryland to take on Loyola College in the first round of the Black & Decker Soccer Classic on Friday, September 7. The host Greyhounds scored in the 20th minute of play to collect a 1-0 win over Adelphi at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. With the win Loyola improved to 3-0, while the Panthers are still searching for their first victory at 0-3.

On the 20th minute Jamie Darvill, got his head on the ball, sending it toward Phil Bannister, who drove it into the top of the goal for his third score of the season. The tally made it a 1-0 game, which is how the first half ended.

However, Loyola found itself a man down after a red card in the 75th minute. But Adelphi could capitalize on the man advantage, falling 1-0.

The Panthers will look to snap their three game losing streak on Sunday, September 9 when they take on Radford at 11:05 am in the second round of the Black & Decker Soccer Classic.
