Women's Soccer Stopped By C.W. Post, 1-0

Old Wesbury, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's soccer team suffered its second conference loss of the season with a 1-0 decision at C.W. Post this afternoon. The Pioneers improve to 6-1-2 and 2-1 in conference play, while the Panthers fall to 5-4 on the season and 2-2 in the ECC.

Senior Nicole Dunn scored the game-winner in the 65th minute from five yards out on a cross from junior forward Maria Sonnerborg.

C.W. Post finished the game outshooting Adelphi, 14-8 while Adelphi held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Adelphi goalkeeper Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) made eight saves in net for the Panthers while C.W. Post's Kim Yacenda had two saves in net.

This marks the first time since 2004 that Adelphi has lost two conference games in a season. They went on to finish 20-4-1 as the NCAA DII National Championship runners-up.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, October 3 at Molloy College at 6:00 p.m.
