Women's Tennis Rolls Past New Haven, 7-2

West Haven, CT - The Adelphi University women's tennis team won all but two for their matches in a 7-2 East Coast Conference victory over the University of New Haven on Thursday afternoon at Painter Park. The Panthers improve to 4-4 overall and 4-2 in league play, with the loss drops UNH to 4-4 overall and 2-4 in ECC matches.

Freshman Alda Ribeiro (Del Ray Beach, FL) extened her win streak to four, with a convincing #1 singles win over Kristina Bensley, 6-0, 3-0 (ret.). Senior Amanda Anaboli (West Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Megan Margino (Lake Grove, N.Y.) were also victorios in the #2 and #3 flights, respectively. Both matches went to 10-point tiebreakers after the team competition had been settled, with Adelphi winning both tiebreaks.

Freshman Jamie Sussman (Glastonbury, CT) topped Caitlin Witucki, 6-1, 6-4, at the #5 spot. Adelphi swept doubles competition as well.

The Panthers return to action on October 1 when they travel to Mahwah, New Jersey to face Ramapo College at 3:30 p.m.
