Men's Soccer Stopped by Fairfield, 1-0

Fairfield, CT - The Adelphi University men's soccer team traveled to Fairfield, Connecticut on Saturday, September 22 to take on the Fairfield University Stags. Fairfield scored in the 53rd minute of play and the Panthers could not respond, falling 1-0. The loss drops Adelphi to 0-6-1 overall, while the Stags improve to 5-1 on the season.

After a half of scoreless action, Fairfield broke through the Adelphi defense in the 53rd minute when Christian Uy beat Panther goalie Vincent Treglia off of a feed from Aldo Hope. The goal gave the stags a 1-0 advantage.

Despite a 9-2 edge in corner kics the Panthers could not find the back of the Stag net, falling 1-0. Treglia kept Adelphi in the game, making four saves, while Fairfield goalkeeper Jon Paul Francini also made four saves.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, September 26 when they travel to Brooklyn, New York for a 7:00 pm meeting with St. Francis.
