Adelphi opened day two of the Indiana University (PA) tournament with a tight 3-2 loss to Georgian Court and bounced back with a 3-0 victory over the University of Pittsburgh - Johnstown. The split gives the Panthers a record of 3-1 overall.
In game one the Panthers jumped on Georgian Court early, taking the first two games, 30-19 and 30-27. Georgian Court dug out of the two game hole, taking games three and four, 30-19 and 31-29. Adelphi could not overcome Georgian Court's momentum in game five, falling 15-11.
For the third game in a row Brittany Addeo led the Panthers in assists with 47, while Lauren Flanagan added 15 kills and Kathleen Carney chipped in 14 kills.
Game two was all Adelphi as the Panthers put away Pittsburgh - Johnstown 30-28 and 30-22 in games one and two. Adelphi closed the door in game three picking up the game 30-18 and the win 3-0.
Flanagan led the attack with 10 kills, while Addeo added 32 assists and Amy Williams picked up 18 digs.
Adelphi returns to action on September 7 when they open the Millersville tournament against the University of the District of Columbia.
