The Adelphi University baseball team completed their season sweep of East Coast Conference opponent Concordia College on April 9 with a 10-6 victory. The win raises Adelphi's overall record to 16-9 and 9-2 in the conference, while Concordia falls to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
Rob DeGennaro led the offense, going 2-4 with four RBI and a run scored, including a triple in the second inning. Both Robert Paccione and Mike Testani chipped in two RBI apiece, with Paccione going 3-5 with two runs scored, while Testani was 4-4 with a run scored.
Mike McLasky threw 5.2 innings of one run, six hit baseball striking out six to collect the win. Dave Salemi, Frank Valeriano, Jason Intelasano and Chris Weidlein combined to close the game out.
Adelphi led 5-0 after the first two innings and never looked back, leading 7-2 after the top of the seventh and tacking on three more runs to put the game out of reach, 10-6.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, April 11 when Adelphi travels to Flushing, New York for a match-up with Queens College.
