Game One/Game Two

Bobby Lanigan and Mike Myers pitched a combined 13 innings and allowed just two runs each, helping the Panthers to a sweep of Concordia. With the 4-2 and 11-2 victories Adelphi improves to 15-9 overall and 8-2 in the East Coast Conference, while the Clippers fall to 7-12 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
Game One
Ralph Tropiano had the hot bat in game one, going 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored, while Rob Paccione also posted a multi-hit game (2-4) with a run scored. Lanigan pitched six innings giving up just three hits and striking out eight to pick up the win. Mike McLasky threw 1.2 innings of one hit, no run relief to collect the save.
The Panthers jumped on Concordia early, scoring three runs in the first two innings of action to hold a 3-0 advantage heading into the third. The Clippers got on the board in the bottom of the sixth, cutting the Panther edge to one run, 3-2. But, Adelphi added an insurance run in the top of the seventh, securing the 4-2 victory.
Game Two
Mike Testani was the offensive catalyst in game two, knocking in four runs and scoring four more with a 3-5 performance at the plate that included two home runs. Tropiano continued his strong play, going 2-4 with three runs scored and two RBI, including a home run.
Mike Myers pitched a seven inning complete game, striking out seven and giving up just two runs, to pick up the win.
The Panthers knocked in two runs in the top of the first inning, but gave one back in the bottom of the second. In the top of the third Adelphi produced two more runs, to take a 4-1 lead.
Leading 4-2 heading into the fourth inning Adelphi erupted to score a combined seven runs in the top of the fourth and fifth to push their lead to 11-2 and put the game out of reach.
Adelphi returns to action on Monday, April 9 when they close out the three game set with Concordia at 3:30 pm in Garden City, New York.
