Game OneGame Two

The Adelphi University baseball used strong pitching to pick up a 2-1 in game two of a doubleheader, securing a split with the University of New Haven. The split brings Adelphi's overall mark to 26-12 and 17-4 in the East Coast Conference, while New Haven sits at 26-14 and 14-8 in conference play.
Game One
Five different players drove in one run apiece, as the Chargers took the opener 6-2.
UNH led 3-0, getting a run in the fourth and two in the fifth before Adelphi got two runs back in the top of the sixth, using RBI singles from Ryan Boelsen and Mike Colonna.
But UNH added three unanswered to close out the victory, picking up two in the seventh and one in the eighth.
Game Two
Adelphi starting pitcher Michael Myers went the distance, allowing eight hits, two walks and one run while striking out eight in seven innings of work to pick up the 2-1 win.
Adelphi capitalized on their only multi-hit inning, the fourth, with the help of a UNH error. Mike Colonna led off with a single into shallow left field, and Mike Testani made it two on with an error at shortstop. Cleanup hitter Ryan Boelsen doubled to deep left center in the next at-bat to give the Panthers the 2-0 advantage.
The Chargers got on the board in the bottom of the seventh when a led off with a single turned into New Haven's only run of the game. However with two men on Myers closed out the game with a strike out.
The teams will take Sunday off, but resume this three-game series at Adelphi on Monday, April 30 at 3:30 p.m.
