Baseball Stopped By Dowling, 24-1

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University baseball team managed just six hits and one run, while giving up 21 hits and 24 runs in an East Coast Conference loss to visiting Dowling College. The loss drops Adelphi to 25-11 overall and 15-3 in the ECC, while Dowling improves to 17-15 and 12-7 in conference play.

The Panthers trailed just 1-0 after one inning of action, but Dowling hung five runs on Adelphi in the top of the second, putting the Panthers in a 6-0 hole. The Golden Lions then scored another run in the top of the third, but put the game out of reach in the top of the fourth, scoring seven runs to extend their lead to 14-0.

Adelphi will try to return to their winning ways on Friday, April 27 when they play host to Caldwell at 3:30 pm.
