Baseball Slips Past Molloy, 3-2

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi baseball team stroked just five hits, but all were crucial as the Panthers posted a 3-2 win over visiting Molloy College. The win give Adelphi a season sweep of the Lions and a third straight 20-win season, raising the Panthers record to 20-9 overall and 13-2 in the East Coast Conference. Molloy falls to 13-21 and 5-11 in conference play with the loss.

Mike Colonna led the way for Adelphi, accounting for two runs while going 2-3 from the plate. Colonna drove in a run in the bottom of the fourth on a shot to center and then drove in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth on a single to left that scored Ryan Boelsen. Mike Testani drove in Adelphi's first run of the game on a sacrifice fly.

Mike Scudero pitched seven strong innings, striking out six and allowing just two runs, picking up the win. Teddy Rohrs pitched two thirds of a scoreless inning, while Mike McLasky pitched just over an inning of scoreless relief to collect the save.

Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, April 19 when they play host to St. Rose in a contest that is set for a 3:30 pm start.
