Adelphi Pulls Away With 11-6 Win

Boca Raton, FL - The Panthers are using strong bats along with precision pitching to continue their winning ways in their Florida as they cruised past St. Thomas Aquinas 11-6. The win improves Adelphi's record to 5-3 overall.

Mike McClasky pitched a solid six innings of three-run baseball to pick up the win on the afternoon. Teddy Rohrs entered the game in the seventh and pitched 1-1/3 of solid relief. Bobby Lanigan picked up his first save of the season going 1-2/3 innings to finish the game.

Robert Paccione went 3-4 on the night, including two runs to help with the Panther offense. Bill Melillo hit a two-run single in the first with two outs to give Adelphi the go-ahead runs. Ralph Tropiano added a two-run homerun in the fifth to give Adelphi an insurmountable four run lead.

Mike Testani also added two runs while going 2-4 and made an over the shoulder catch at the fence with two outs to put an end to a Spartan come back.

Adelphi returns to action on March 14 at 6:00 pm when they take on Nova Southeastern in Fort-Lauderdale-Davie, Florida.
