The Adelphi men's lacrosse team traveled to Annapolis, Maryland for a March 10 game against Limestone College. The Panthers trailed 3-2 after one period of play, but outscored the Saints, 5-1 over the next three quarters to pull out a 7-4 victory. The win raises Adelphi's record to 2-1 on the season, while Limestone falls to 3-1.
Limestone took an early 2-0 lead on back-to-back goals from Justin Haworth before Adelphi's Andrew Ashkenazy cut the Saint lead in half with 4:01 left in the first quarter. The Panthers would trade goals with Limestone near the end of the first period, entering the second quarter down, 3-2.
The second period was all Adelphi as the Panthers got goals from Brandon Butler, Tyler Burton and Chad Henry, all off of Michael Gongas assists to take control of the game 5-3. Adelphi held on, for the win, outscoring Limestone, 2-1 in the second half of action to collect a 7-4 win.
Marty Ward made 14 saves in the loss for Limestone, while Devin Schneiderbauer picked up 11 saves and his second win of the season.
Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, March 15 when they play host to Pace at 3:30 pm.
