Box Score

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's basketball team shot 59 percent in the second half of action at Dobbs Ferry to expand on a 27-21 halftime lead and pick up a 73-54 win over Mercy College. The victory raises Adelphi's overall record to 11-10 overall and 8-6 in East Coast Conference play, while Mercy falls to 5-17 overall and 4-11 in the conference.

The Panthers collected their first lead of the game on the first bucket of the contest and after some back and forth pushed that margin to 12, 20-8, with 8:17 on the clock, courtesy of a Mike Mosby dunk. However, Mercy outscored Adelphi 14-7 to pull within six, 27-21, entering halftime.

Adelphi utilized a 25-5 burst after the re-start to push a 27-21 halftime lead to 52-26 with 11:25 left, ending all doubt as Mercy would never came closer than 18 the rest of the way.

The Panthers were the superior shooters (57%-37%) and won the battle on the glass (48-15, including 16-2 offensive).

Senior forward Devon Mirjah was the high man for the Flyers with 14 points.

Mosby was the primary force for the Panthers, generating 25 points (10-13 FG), 10 rebounds and three steals, while guards Donnell Cummings (15 points, seven rebounds) and Kimani Blaize (11 points, five boards, three assists) also turned in strong performances.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, February 10 when they travel to the University of New Haven for a 4:00 pm tip-off with the Chargers.
