The Lions cut the lead to nine, 19-10, on a basket by Dee Varley at 10:01, but this was the closest they would get. A layup by freshman Lekesha Harris (St. Albans, N.Y.) sparked a 17-4 rally to give the Panthers their largest lead of the night, 36-14, at 2:37. Adelphi shot 52.4 percent from the field in the first half and carried a substantial 39-21 lead into the locker room.

The second half was more of the same as Adelphi maintained its cushion despite connecting on just 7-of-21 from the field. Georgian Court faired slightly better with nine field goals and were unable sustain a consistent rally.

The Panthers held a slight 32-29 rebound advantage with junior Serita Lee (Freeport, N.Y.) pulling down a game-high 11 boards. Adelphi went to the free throw line 36 times, hitting a season high 72.2 percent (26-36).

Adelphi returns to conference action on Wednesday, December 5, as they host Concordia College at 5:30 p.m.
