The Adelphi volleyball team traveled to Dobb's Ferry, New York on Tuesday, October 30 to close out its East Coast Conference schedule against Mercy. The Panthers took the first two games en route to a 3-1 victory, running their win streak to a school record 10 games. Overall Adelphi is 25-5 and 7-2 in conference play, while Mercy falls to 9-16 overall and 1-7 in ECC action.
After Adelphi took the first two games 30-17 and 30-19, the Mavericks bounced back to win game three 30-24. Adelphi jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in the fourth game, but Mercy chipped away to go ahead 17-16. The game saw seven ties from there before the Panthers finally pulled away to take the final three points and a 30-26 decision.
Samantha Johnston, Lauren Flanagan and Kelsey Hackett all had strong offensive games, contributing 12, 11 and 10 kills. Brittany Addeo racked up a game-high 47 assists, while Amy Williams posted 25 digs. Addeo and Jennifer McKenna also contributed on the defensive end, collecting 12 and 11 digs respectively.
Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, November 3 when they travel to Waltham, Massachusetts to take on Bentley and Southern Connecticut State.
