Box Score
New Hyde Park, NY -
The Panthers record their third shutout of the season as they topped Queens College, 2-0. The East Coast Conference win moves Adelphi Women's Soccer to 6-3, 10-5 overall, while the Knights drop to 3-5-1 in the ECC, 5-10-2 overall.
Looking to set up Caitlin Morrison (Beacon, NY), Elise Maniguet (Pine Bush, NY) put the ball in motion near the half way line. Her pass would miss Morrison, however, bouncing over goalkeeper Valentina Duque's reach, it was good enough for a goal to put the Panthers up 1-0 in the ninth minute.
The Panthers carried the momentum into the second half, scoring quickly in the 49th minute. Starting off on a pass by Brianne McDonnell (Commack, N.Y.), Lauren Slattery (Nashua, NH) was able to rip a shot in the Queens box and find the back of the net, recording the final goal of the match.
Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, NY) had four saves in the match to record her third shutout of the 2007 season, while Duque in goal for Queens was able to save 10 of the Panther's shots.
The Panthers will end their regular season, Saturday, October 27, when they host the Philadelphia University Rams at Tully Park, New Hyde Park, New York at 7:00pm.
