Box Score
Waltham, MA -
Sophomore Caitlin Morrison (Beacon, N.Y.) scored the lone goal while senior Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) was flawless in net, leading Adelphi to a 1-0 win over Bentley in non-conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at the Bentley Soccer Complex. The Panthers, ranked ninth in the Northeast region in the latest NSCAA/adidas Division II Coaches Poll, improved their record to 8-4, while the Falcons, ranked in a three-way tie for ninth in the New England region, fell to 7-7-2.
The only goal of the contest came in the 17th minute after Adelphi took a corner kick. The Bentley defense attempted to clear the ball, but Morrison corralled it and scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season.
At the other end, Conway was sharp between the pipes as the Falcons put many of their shots on target, but Conway made eight saves to deny Bentley a score and post her second shutout of the season.
Adelphi returns to action on October 17 when they travel to Bridgeport, Connecticut for a 3:30 pm match-up with Bridgeport.
