The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to Manchester, New Hampshire on Saturday, October 13 to take on Southern New Hampshire and Merrimack. The Panthers won both matches without dropping a single game, improving to 17-5 overall.
Adelphi faced Merrimack first, taking the first game easily, 30-23. However, Merrimack would battle back in games two and three, forcing extra points ad Adelphi won both games by identical 31-29 scores. Lauren Flanagan led the Panther attack with 11 kills, while Brittany Addeo collected 39 assists and Amy Williams pick-up a career-high 34 digs.
Against Southern New Hampshire the Panthers took care of business in games one and three, winning 30-24 and 30-25. But, in the second game the host Penmen pushed Adelphi the edge, forcing extra points as the Panthers came out on top, 32-30. Kathleen Carney led the team in kills with 12, while Addeo chipped in 33 assists and Williams added 14 digs and Heather Mau picked up 12.
Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, October 16 when they play host to New Haven at 7:00 pm in Woodruff Hall.
