Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi volleyball played host to the University of Bridgeport on Thursday, September 28 in an East Coast Conference (ECC) clash. The first set was a back and forth affair with the Panthers come out on top, 30-27, on their way to a 3-0 victory. The win brings Adelphi's overall mark to 10-4, while rising to 1-2 in the ECC. Bridgeport fell to 10-11 overall and remain winless in the conference at 0-2.

Jessi Bornack led the Purple Knights with 15 kills and chipped in eight digs. Teammate Olga Sidorova carried the load on defense, registering a game-high 14 digs, while Maryanne Stafford collected 23 assists.

Samantha Johnston (Port Jervis, N.Y.) and Lauren Flanagan (Boulder, CO) did the bulk of the offensive work for Adelphi, picking up 12 and 11 kills respectively. Kathleen Creegan (North Bellmore, N.Y.) chipped in 10 digs, while Brittany Addeo (Minden, NV) recorded a game-high 33 assists.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 30 when they travel to Oakdale, New York to take on Dowling and UMASS-Lowell.
