Brookville, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team traveled to Brookville, N.Y. to take on the Pioneers of C.W. Post on September 25. Adelphi won four of six singles matches and picked up two wins in doubles competition to come out on top 6-3 in this East Coast Conference match, to improve Adelphi's overall record to 2-4, and 2-1 in conference play.

Graduate student, Claudette Frysztacki (Wantagh, N.Y.), started Adelphi off picking up a win over Nicole Occhipinti in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Also picking up wins for the panthers were Melissa Kutner (Bayonne, N.J.) over Rosemary Marrugo 8-6, Leah Moore (Abington, PA) over Lauren Deptula 6-1, 6-3, and Amanda Aniboli (West Islip, N.Y.) over Cheryl Gottlieb 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles play, Melissa Pashayan (Garden City, N.Y.) paired up with Frysztacki to defeat Gottlieb and Deptula, 8-3. Tricia Burns (Bristol, CT) and Aniboli picked up the other doubles win defeating Rosemary Marrugo and Alexis Kramer, 8-6.

Adelphi is back in action September 26 at Dowling in another ECC match.
