Women's Soccer Rolls Past Concordia, 4-0

Bronxville, N.Y . - Four different players scored as the Adelphi University women's soccer team topped Concordia College, 4-0, in conference action this afternoon. The Panthers improve to 5-0-3 on the season and 2-0-1 in the ECC. The Clippers fall to 0-6 and 0-4 in league play.

Senior Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the season, and the ultimate game-winner for the Panthers, on an assist from sophomore Lauren Slattery at 19:25. Freshman Amanda Popoli (South Salem, N.Y.) provided an assist on the second goal of the day on a corner kick knocked in by freshman Brittany Hess (East Meadow, N.Y.) in the 40th minute.

The Panthers opened the second stanza with a 2-0 lead. Sophomore Amanda Rodriguez (Oviedo, Fl.) tallied her first goal of the season on a feed from junior Meaghan Fredrickson (Hauppauge, N.Y) in the 72nd minute. Sophomore Marissa Cannella (Cornwall, N.Y.) pushed the lead to four at 74:17 on a corner kick.

Adelphi dominated the game, outshooting Concordia, 18-0. As a result of strong defense by the Panthers, junior Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) collected her fourth shutout of the season. Jillian Martin made five saves for the Clippers.

The Panthers return to action tomorrow, September 27, hosting Lock Haven at 4:00 pm on Stiles Field.
