Men's Soccer Shuts Down Stony Brook, 1-0

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's soccer team extended their win streak to three games, with a 1-0 victory over Stony Brook on Tuesday, September 19. The win also marks the fourth shutout this season for the Panthers, who even their record at 4-4 with the win, while the Seawolves fall to 2-7.

Adelphi and Stony Brook played even in the first half, registering four shots apiece, while the host Seawolves held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. The complexion of the game changed in the 63rd minute when Ron Forman (Massapequa, N.Y.) beat the Stony Brook defense and slipped a ball past EJ Xihis to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead and eventually the win.

Michael Hurley (Freeport, N.Y.) made four saves, picking up his fourth shutout of the season, while Xihis made three saves in the loss.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, September 23 when they open their Atlantic Soccer Conference schedule by hosting Howard University.
