The Adelphi volleyball hosted Pace University on Tuesday, September 12 in historic Woodruff Hall. The Panthers continued their winning ways, topping the Setters, 3-1 (30-20, 30-27, 28-30, 30-22). With the win, Adelphi improves to 8-1 on the season, while Pace falls to 2-9.
The Panthers cruised through the first game, picking up a 30-20 win, but Pace bounced back to push Adelphi to the edge in game two, going down 2-0 with a 30-27 loss. Game three was all Pace as the Setters rallied early, before the Panthers stormed back, falling just short 28-30. However, Adelphi righted the ship, taking game four and the match with a 30-22 victory.
Emily Marzan led the way for Pace with 15 kills and nine digs, while teammate Danielle Furka added 21 digs.
The Panthers were led by Kathleen Creegan (North Bellmore, N.Y.), who picked up a double-double, notching 18 kills and picking up 12 digs. Brittany Addeo (Minden, NV) set a career-high with 57 assists.
Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, September 14 when they travel to Flushing, New York to open up their East Coast Conference schedule against Queens College at 7:00 pm.
