Game One/Game Two

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi's offense scored a combined two runs on eight hits in two games against visiting Molloy, dropping game one, 4-1, and falling, 7-1, in game two. With the losses Adelphi falls to 17-19 overall and 13-8 in the conference, while Molloy improves to 21-20 overall and 12-9 in the NYCAC.

Game One
Adelphi got on the board first, taking a, 1-0, lead in the bottom of the second when Mike Colonna (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly, driving in Nick Testani (Williston Park, N.Y.). Molloy knotted the game at one thanks to an Adelphi error that allowed a runner to score from second.

The game remained deadlocked until Molloy uncorked three runs in the top of the ninth, scoring the first run on a sacrifice fly, the second run crossed the plate on a passed ball and the third run scored came home on a single to third base. Adelphi managed to get two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth but could not score, falling 4-1.

Bill Melillo (Glenwood Landings, N.Y.) pitched eight innings, striking out four and allowing three runs (two earned) in the loss. Dennis Conroy went the distance for Molloy, striking out five in the win.

Game Two
Molloy jumped on starter Chris Palladino (East Meadow, N.Y.) early, scoring five runs in the first inning on three hits and one error. Adelphi managed to get one run back in the bottom of the third when Stephen Malvagna (East Meadow, N.Y.) singled to right field, scoring Brian Rath (Wantagh, N.Y.).

However, Molloy scored a run in the top of the fourth and fifth to take a 7-1 lead and put the game out of reach.

Adelphi returns to action on Sunday, April 30 when they travel to Rockville Centre, New York to complete the three game set with Molloy at noon.
