The Adelphi baseball team got three RBI performances from three different players in a 14-4 rout of NYCAC opponent St. Thomas Aquinas. With the win the Panthers improve to 14-16 overall and 11-5 in conference action, while St. Thomas Aquinas falls to 19-14 overall and 10-6 in the NYCAC.
Adelphi took advantage of three first inning errors by St. Thomas Aquinas to pull out to a 2-0 lead after just one inning. The Panthers tacked on five more runs in the top of the second including a two RBI double from Thomas Cali (Shirley, N.Y.) and a two RBI single from Brian Rath (Wantagh, N.Y.), pushing Adelphi's lead to 7-0.
The cushion was more then enough for starter Bobby Lanigan (Staten Island, N.Y.), who pitched seven and a third innings, allowed no earned runs and struck out seven, picking up his fourth win of the season.
The Panthers return to action on Thursday, April 20 when they Caldwell, New Jersey to take on Caldwell College.
