The Adelphi men's tennis team took on St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, March 25, collecting a 9-0 victory. The Panthers followed that up with a 9-0 blanking of Bloomfield College on Sunday, March 26 to improve to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in the NYCAC.
Adelphi put together a dominating performance in their Saturday match-up with St. Thomas Aquinas. In doubles action the Panthers dropped just three games, while the first five flights combined to drop just seven games to the Spartans, led by Alex Molotsky's (Calgary, Alberta) straight set win (6-0, 6-0) over Jimmy Tedesco.
The Panthers were even more impressive against Bloomfield, dropping just two doubles games and three singles games to the Deacons. Four different players won their singles matches in straight sets, helping Adelphi improve to 3-0.
With their strong start Adelphi, finds themselves ranked ninth in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and will return to action on Wednesday, March 29 when they take on Mercy College.
