Garden City, N.Y. - Seniors Wes Green (Adelaide, Australia) and Shannon McEntee (Valley Stream, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of March 28, 2006.

Green has been selected as the Conde Naste Male College Athlete of The Year and will be honored at the 12th Annual Awards Dinner, which will take place at 7:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place, New York.

Green, a two-time All-American, earned the USILA Lt. Col. J.I. (Jack) Turnbull Award in 2005 as the nation's top Division II attackman. Green was also an All-NYCAC selection and an ECAC All-Star. He is also currently 17th in Division II in career goals with 116 (fourth on Adelphi's all-time list) and tied for seventh on Adelphi's all-time list in points with 162.

Men's lacrosse returns to action on Saturday, April 1 when they take on Bentley College at 1:00 pm.

McEntee has been selected as the Conde Naste Female College Athlete of The Year and will be honored at the 12th Annual Awards Dinner, which will take place at 7:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place, New York.

McEntee, a two-time All-NYCAC selection, finished her career with 18 goals, 12 assists and 48 total points. A four-time NYCAC All-Academic selection was also honored as a CoSIDA second-team academic all-district selection in 2005. McEntee also appeared in four NCAA Division II tournaments, and made one Final Four appearance.
