Senior forward, Jamaal Wagner (Jamaica, N.Y.) was one of 20 players selected from across the nation to appear in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-Star game on March 24. Wagner and his East All-Star teammates poured in 122 points, but were out gunned by their West All-Star counterpoints and fell 134-122.
Wagner had a solid game, scoring eight points on 3-5 shooting, including hitting on two of his three attempts from beyond the arc. He also chipped in two steals and one assist in 21 minutes of action.
Tayron Thomas (Philadelphia University) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the East All-Star team after scoring 18 points (8-13), pulling down seven rebounds and handing out five assists.
Ryan Diggs (Western Washington) and Franz Steyn (Southwest Baptist) earned Co-Most Outstanding Player honors for the west team. Diggs was 10-12 from the field, including 5-7 from three-point range in scoring a game-high 25 points, while Steyn posted the only double double of the game, scoring 18 points and adding 11 rebounds.
The NABC/Division II All-Star was played in the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts in conjunction with the Division II Elite Eight.
