Brooklandville, MD - The Adelphi University men's lacrosse team led Limestone College, 5-3, at the half, before erupting for seven goals in the third period on the way to a 16-6 victory. With the win the Panthers improve to 4-1 overall, while Limestone falls to 3-4 on the season.

Wes Green (Adelaide, Australia) opened the scoring 2:27 into play, giving Adelphi an early 1-0 lead. Limestone's Brad Patridge responded to pull the Saint's even, 1-1, before Stephen Mortimer (Adelaide, Australia) answered back, allowing the Panthers to retake the lead, 2-1.

Limestone continued to battle, trailing by just one goal, 4-3, as the second quarter winded down. However, Green swung the momentum in Adelphi's favor as he found the back of the Saint net off of a Brendan Morgan (Bayside, N.Y.) assist with just 23 seconds on the clock to give the Panthers a 5-3 lead at the break.

Morgan opened the third period with a goal at the 12:40 mark, extending Adelphi's edge to 6-3. The Panthers would out score Limestone 6-2 during the rest of the third quarter to close out the period with a 12-5 lead and essentially put the game out of reach.

Marty Ward made 18 saves in the loss for Limestone, while Brian Volpi (Lawrence, N.Y.) collected eight saves and the win.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, March 24 when they place host to Dominican College at 3:30 pm on Stiles Field.
