The Adelphi baseball team improved to 3-5 overall with two wins over Bloomfield. The Panthers collected a 5-2 win in the first game and followed the up with a come from behind 8-6 win a day later.
In the first game, Chris Palladino (East Meadow, N.Y.) gave up two runs in six innings of work and picked up the win thanks to the relief efforts of Chris Lewandowski (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and Michael Myers (Wantagh, N.Y.). Lewandowski pitched two scoreless innings, before Myers closed out the game to pick up his second save of the season and give Adelphi a 5-2 win.
In game two the Panthers trailed 6-2, before battling back to knot the game at six heading into the ninth inning. In the ninth Brian Rath (Wantagh, N.Y.) doubled and was then driven in by a Joe Maranino (Bronx, N.Y.) double, giving Adelphi a 7-6 lead. The Panthers would tack on one more run, collecting an 8-6 win. Frank Valeriano (Oceanside, N.Y.) was credited with the win.
Adelphi returns to action on Sunday, March 19 when they take on Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida.
