Westbury, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's basketball team forced 15 turnovers and held host NYIT to 34 percent shooting in a 60-51 victory. The win stretches the Panthers current win streak to 11games, while improving their record to 19-4 overall and 15-1 in the conference. With the loss the Bears fall to 5-17 overall and 4-11 in NYCAC action.

NYIT controlled the action early, building a six-point cushion, 8-2, just 4:19 into play. Adelphi rallied to cut the lead to two, 8-6, before Bryant Lassiter pushed the Bear advantage to four points, with two made free throw with 13:31 to play.

Then Adelphi went on an 11-2 run, capped by an Aaron Cummings (Bay Shore, N.Y.) Three-pointer to take a five point lead, 17-12, with 7:45 remaining in the first half. The Bears battled back, shrinking the margin to just one-point, 18-17, on an Edwin Ebanks three-pointer, before responded with another 11-2 run to take control, 29-19 and enter the half with a 29-22 edge.

Adelphi continued to lead comfortably in the early stages of the second half until NYIT put together an 8-2 run over a two minute span to pull within two, 39-37, with 13:17 to play in the game. The Bears kept it close over the next several minutes, not allowing the Panther bulge to get any larger then seven.
