Adelphi Men Ground Flyers, 74-37

Garden City, N.Y. - Senior Mike Mosby tallied 16 points and a game-high 13 rebounds as the Adelphi University men's basketball team defeated Mercy College, 74-37, at Woodruff Hall. The Panthers improve to 3-3 on the season and 2-2 in the ECC.

Senior Kimani Blaize led all players with 22 points. Senior Samuel Jenkins contributed 14 points and eight rebounds. Senior Donnell Cummings chipped in 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

The Panthers held the Flyers to just four points over the first eight minutes of play to open a 18-4 lead. Mercy connected on just 3-of-21 from the field, or 14.3 percent, with half of its points coming from the free throw line. Adelphi cruised to a 37-14 half-time lead

The second half was much of the same with the Panthers outscoring the Flyers 23-7 over the final seven minutes of the game. Adelphi dominated the boards, outrebounding Mercy 45-29.

Mercy was led by Devon Mirjah and Keiron Guy with 10 and nine points, respectively.

Next up, Adelphi begins a three-game non-conference road trip at Assumption College on Thursday, December 21. Game time is 5:00 p.m.
