Men's Basketball Bounces Bloomfield, 75-60

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's basketball team placed four players in double figures and shot fifty percent from the floor, dispatching visiting Bloomfield, 75-60. With the win, the Panthers even their record at 1-1, while the Deacons remain winless at 0-2.

Bloomfield opened the game with back-to-back three-pointers from Andre Dabney to slip out to a 6-2 lead at the 17:39 mark of the first half. From there the lead changed hands four times before Adelphi used a 9-2 run, capped by a Donnell Cummings (South Ozone Park, N.Y.) to take a 20-13 lead with 8:56 remaining in the first half.

The Deacons responded with a 9-2 run of their own to pull within one point, 22-21, at the 5:47 mark, but back-to-back buckets by Cummings and Mike Mosby (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) put Adelphi ahead 26-21.

Adelphi found themselves ahead 33-25 with 1:17 remaining but a Dabney made free throw and a Try Wilson three-pointer as time expired cut the Panther lead to just four, 33-29 at the half.

The Panthers opened the second half with a 13-7 that spanned the first 4:32 of the second period to take a 12-point advantage, 48-36. Adelphi remained in control from there, not allowing Bloomfield to get any closer then nine points, cruising to a 75-60 win.

Dabney led all scorers with 26 points and added five rebounds, while teammate Anthony Separovich chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds.

Mosby paced the Panthers with career highs in points, 18 and rebounds 17. Cummings also hit double digits scoring 17 points and adding nine rebounds. Samuel Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in 13 points and Sky Khaleel (Queens, N.Y.) notched 11 points.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, November 29 when they play host to NYIT in East Coast Conference action.
