Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University hosted the University of New Haven Chargers on October 4. Adelphi walked away with five wins in single play and two in doubles play to win the match 7-2.

Three women posted wins in both singles and doubles play, including Graduate Student, Claudette Frysztacki (Wantagh, N.Y.) who defeated Catherine Barry 6-3, 6-0 in singles play then teamed with Melissa Pashayan (Garden City, N.Y.) to defeat Barry and Rachel Aloi 8-2. Senior Amanda Aniboli (West Islip, N.Y.) defeated Lauren Gannon in fifth flight singles 6-1, 6-0. Freshman, Tricia Burns (Bristol, CT) defeated Caitlin Witucki 6-3, 6-3, and then paired with Aniboli to defeat Gannon and Witucki 8-2 in doubles play.

Adelphi's overall record improves to 4-5, and 4-2 in conference play. The Chargers drop to 4-5 overall, while going 2-5 in conference play.

Adelphi is back in action October 9 in a non-conference match against Georgian Court in Lakewood, N.J.
