Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team traveled to Rockville Centre, N.Y. to take on the Lady Lions of Molloy College on October 2. Adelphi won four of six singles matches and picked up two wins in doubles competition to come out on top 6-3 in this East Coast Conference match. The win improves Adelphi's overall record to 3-5, and 3-2 in conference play.

Senior Amanda Aniboli (West Islip, N.Y.) extended her winning streak to eight matches with a win over Nicole Bennardo, 6-3 and 6-1.

Also picking up wins in singles play were seniors, Leah Moore (Abington, PA) over Katrina Zendrian 6-0, 6-0 and Melissa Pashayan (Garden City, N.Y.) over Vicky Incalcaturva 3-6, 6-4, 10-4. Graduate Student, Claudette Frysztacki (Wantagh, N.Y.) picked up her fifth win of the season with a come from behind win over Colleen Keane, 1-6, 6-1, 11-9.

In doubles play, Pashayan paired up with Frysztacki to defeat Keane and Ciardulli, 8-1. Freshman, Tricia Burns (Bristol, CT) and Aniboli picked up the other doubles win defeating Nicole Bennardo and Incalcaturva, 9-8.

Adelphi is back in action October 4 versus New Haven in another ECC match at Hempstead Lake State Park.
