The Adelphi volleyball team played host to East Coast Conference (ECC) opponent Molloy College on Thursday, October 19. Adelphi outlasted Molloy (30-23, 30-20, 27-30 and 30-14) to pick up a 3-1 ECC victory. With the win the Panthers improve to 14-9 overall and 5-3 in conference play, while the Lady Lions fall to 7-14 overall and 1-6 in the ECC.
Adelphi took control of game one early, using a .350 kill percentage and 18 kills to take game one, 30-23. Game two produced a similar result with Molloy picking up just seven kills and dropping the game, 30-20. Game three was a back and forth affair with Molloy pulling out a 30-27 win to stay alive, before succumbing 30-14 in the fourth and final game.
Diann Drury led the Molloy offense with 11 kills, while Alicia Curci paced the defense with 13 digs. Karen Quiambao added 27 assists.
Lauren Flanagan (Boulder, CO) collected a game-high 22 kills, while teammate Amy Williams (Bloomington, IN) picked up a game-high 14 digs. Brittany Addeo (Minden, NV) kept the trend going with a game-high 50 assists.
Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, October 24 when they travel to Old Westbury, New York to take on NYIT at 7:00 pm.
