Men's Basketball Falls To Philadelphia, 71-60

Philadelphia, PA - The Adelphi men's basketball team held Philadelphia University to just 37 percent shooting in the first half, but the Rams shot 41 percent in the second half and Tayron Thomas erupted for 22 points to hand the Panthers just their first loss in the last six games. With the loss Adelphi falls to 8-4 overall and Philadelphia improves to 10-5.

Adelphi connected on 43 percent of their shots in the first half and entered halftime trailing by just two points, 28-26. But the tide turned in the second half as Philadelphia poured in 43 points to secure a 71-60 victory.

Thomas led all scorers with 34 points, while teammate Christian Burns chipped in 17 points and nine rebounds.

The Panthers placed four players in double-figures, led by Kimani Blaize (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with 13. Jamaal Wagner (Jamaica, N.Y.) added 12 and seven rebounds, while Aaron Cummings (Bay Shore, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists. Mike Mosby (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) gave Adelphi a lift off the bench with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, January 11 when they travel to Dowling for a 7:30 pm showdown.
