Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi women's tennis team opened the 2005 season with a 5-4 win over visiting Holy Family. Holy Family swept the doubles match-ups, but the Panthers battled back to take four our of five singles matches to steal the win.

Sophomore Claudia Nunez (Aventura, Florida) picked up right where she left off last season, topping Shakir Wilett 6-4, 6-1 to pick up a win at number one singles. The Panthers also won third through sixth flight singles.

Adelphi returns to action on Sunday, September 6 when they play host to visiting Georgian Court.
