Kutztown, Pa. - The Adelphi University volleyball team picked up its first win of the season in its final match of the Kutztown Classic. The Panthers (1-6) defeated Assumption, 30-24, 30-27, 30-14 for the victory.

On Friday, Adelphi pushed Mercy College to five games before falling, 30-19, 27-30, 30-26, 21-30, 11-15. In their first match on Saturday, the Panthers lost to eventual tournament champions, Kutztown, 3-1. In fact, Adelphi handed the Kutztown its only loss of the tournament in winnning game one, 31-22. The Bears won the last three games, 30-22, 30-13, 30-27.

Sophomore Lauren Flanagan was named to the Kutztown All-Tournament Team.

Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, September 6, traveling to Rockville Centre to face Molloy College in its first conference game of the season. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
