Old Westbury, N.Y. - Freshman Erin Klimkowski (Westbury, N.Y.) scored the lone goal of the afternoon as the Adelphi University women's soccer team defeated host NYIT, 1-0. The Panthers improve to 4-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the NYCAC. The Bears drop to 3-4-1.

Adelphi outshot NYIT 19-3, but needed just one goal from Klimkowski who took advantage of a loose ball in the box in the 67th minute. Bears goalie Jenna Ament made 10 saves while sophomore Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) had one stop for the shutout.

The Panthers return to action next Saturday, October 1, traveling to the University of Bridgeport for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
