Sophomore Lauren Flanagan was named to the All-Tournament team as the Adelphi University volleyball team finished 2-2 at the 10th annual Millersville/Dutch Country Spiketacular Classic. The Panthers are now 4-8 on the season.
In their first game of day two, Adelphi pushed host Millersville to five games before falling 29-31, 30-20, 23-30, 30-25, 9-15. Flanagan notched 13 kills in the match along with six digs and two blocks. Junior Deanna Maggio posted 46 assists and 15 digs. Junior Rachael Cornick registered 11 kills and a team-high 22 digs.
The Panthers rebounded to defeat Shippensburg, 23-30, 30-25, 30-26, 30-19. Senior Meaghan Joyce led the Panthers with 15 kills along with 12 digs for the double-double.
Flanagan picked up her second all-tournament nod of the season at the tournament. Last week she was selected to the Kutztown All-Tournament team.
Adelphi returns to action on Wednedsay, September 14, as they host the University of New Haven at 7:00 p.m. in Woodruff Hall.
