Men's Lacrosse Falls To #1 Le Moyne, 12-7

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's lacrosse teams played even with the top-ranked Dolphins in the first and fourth quarters but were outscored 7-2 in the middle two quarters, falling 12-7. With the loss the fifth ranked Panthers fall to 4-4 overall, while Le Moyne remains unbeaten at 11-0.

The Dolphins opened a 2-0 lead just 3:39 into play on goals from Kyle Reichel and Mike McDonald. The Panthers countered with a goal two goals from Greg Kalberer (Holbrook, N.Y.) that were separated by an Alex Bily goal, making it a 3-2 game at the end of the first quarter.

Le Moyne opened the scoring in the second, followed by Kalberer's second goal. Then the Dolphins went on a tear, scoring four unanswered goals to make the score 8-3. Adelphi made the score 8-4 on a goal from Wes Green (Adelaide, Australia) before Le Moyne added three more goals to make it an 11-4 game.

The Panthers outplayed Le Moyne in the fourth quarter, out scoring the Dolphins 3-2.

Trent Machner (Melrose Park, Australia) collected 15 saves in the loss, while Jared Corcoran made five saves to pick up the win.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, April 27 when they play host to visiting Pace University at 4:00 pm on Stiles Field.
