The Adelphi baseball team traveled to Rockville Centre, New York for a conference match-up with Molloy. The Panthers and Lions combined for 28 runs on 31 hits, with Adelphi pulling out a 17-11 conference win. With the win The Panthers improve to 18-14 overall and 10-6 in the NYCAC, while Molloy falls to 18-18 and 10-4 in the conference.
Molloy scored nine runs over the first three innings, while Adelphi countered with 12. The game settled down from there as Michael Myers (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Mike Thompson (Bethpage, N.Y.) combined to allow just two runs. The Panthers tacked on five more runs to make the final score 17-11.
Myers pitched seven and two thirds innings to collect the win, while Ryan Mulholland was credited with the loss.
Adelphi returns to action on Friday, April 22 when they travel to Oakdale, New York for a 3:00 pm meeting with Dowling.
