Women's Lacrosse Handles Bryant 18-5

Smithfield, R.I. - No. 1 Adelphi University defeated Bryant College 18-5 in a non-conference women's lacrosse game played today at Bulldog Stadium. The Panthers extend their win streak to 6 games, while the Bulldogs drop to 3-2.

Adelphi was led by senior Katherine Hock (Mineola, N.Y.) who scored six goals and sophomore Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) who netted five.

The first half saw the Panthers take a 7-2 halftime lead behind three Hock goals and a pair by Lopez. Bryant's two first half goals came from freshman Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ).

Bryant would score three goals in the second half, two by sophomore Shaun Leddy (Sea Grit, NJ) and one additional from Carlisle. The Panthers went on to score 11 in the second led by three more from Hock and two from junior Dawn Anselmin (Lynbrook, N.Y.).

Sophomore Allyson Murphy (Williston, Park, N.Y.) registered a season-best 18 stops in the contest.

Adelphi will next play host to #3 Stonehill College on Sunday, April 3, at 3:00 pm.
