The Adelphi men's lacrosse team traveled to Waltham, Massachusetts today to take on #9 Bentley College. The #6 Panthers outscored Bentley 5-1 in the first quarter and cruised to a 12-3 win. With the win Adelphi improves to 3-1 overall while the Falcons fall to 1-3 on the season.
Adelphi and Bentley traded goals early and were deadlocked at one apiece with eight minutes remaining in the first half. Then during a span of time that ranged from the 7:21 mark in the first period to the 9:32 mark of the fourth Adelphi scored seven goals, while keeping the Falcons scoreless.
Wes Green (Adelaide, Australia) and Greg Kalberer (Holbrook, N.Y.) accounted for six of Adelphi seven goals during the span. Adelphi would tack on four more goals, making the final score 12-3.
Kalberer led all scorers with six points, on four goals and two assists, while Green chipped in three goals and two assists. Stephen Mortimer (Adelaide, Australia) added three goals and an assist. Trent Machner (Melrose Park, Australia) collected a game-high 12 saves.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, April 6 when they play host to NYCAC rival Molloy at 4:00 pm.
